Our Community

Laurel Ridge is a single-family home, mountain community located in Rabun County, GA. We are about 100 miles from Atlanta, GA just north of Tallulah Gorge State Park.  Our community is served by the Lakemont-Wiley Volunteer Fire Department and the Rabun County Sheriff's Department.

The Bill and Dustie MacKay Trail, formerly known as the Tallulah Falls Rail-Trail and Shortline Walking Trail is about 5 minutes away. The trail was renamed and dedicated to our friends and neighbors, Bill and Dustie Mackay, in August 2021 for their care of the trail and service to the Park for more than 25 years.

Tallulah Gorge State Park provides great outdoor experiences. The Interpretive Center offers an education on the ecology and wildlife in the area as well as a historical look at Tallulah Falls. The gorge itself is over two miles long and almost 1,000 feet deep. Hiking the gorge rims and descending to the gorge floor are popular activities

The gorge itself is over two miles long and almost 1,000 feet deep. Hiking the gorge rims and descending to the gorge floor are popular activities and provide spectacular views . Waterfalls and the Tallulah River can be seen from various locations including the suspension bridge at the bottom of the gorge.
